A Curriculum for Excellence in Stirling

This area of the ACE Stirling Blogsite is dedicated to those practitioners who are involved in the Stirling Authority’s pilot project on Talking, Listening and Learning.
The blog can be used in a number of ways:
1. To share how the project is developing within your own class or school
2. To ask questions of others from the mere mundane to those of more critical importance
3. To supply answers to problems that you may have already solved within your own classroom or school.

Most of all though the Blog is a means of communication between fellow colleagues who are working together on the same project so please share your thoughts, experiences, successes or failures.

All you have to do to enter the discussion is to click on the comments (by the title). This will then allow you to enter your thoughts, comments, opinions etc. You will be asked for your first name, surname and email address, but rest assured your email address will not be shown or shared.
 

We have also created a page on this site called Talking, Listening and Learning in Stirling,  where we hope to create a bank of ideas for you to use. We hope to update this on a regular basis so we will require your support and ideas to make this happen.

The Wallace cluster Primary 6 teachers are embarking on a ‘Big Task’ of ‘titanic’ proportions over the next few months.

This area of the ACE Stirling Blogsite is going to be dedicated to them.

3. To supply answers to problems that you may have already solved within your own classroom or school.

Within the RESOURCES page of this site you will also find a number of resources linked to the Titanic ‘Big Task’. These resources will be updated on a regular basis. 

In what ways have you been engaging with a Curriculum for Excellence within your own establishment or classroom?

Some examples might include professional reading and keeping up to date with ACfE progress, engaging teachers, children, parents with the 4 capacities and principles for curriculum design, sharing good practice within your school, or use of formative assessment etc.  

What else would you like to see or find on our blog?

This may include examples of good  philosophy or practice, courses you would like to go on, information you would like about ACfE, ways of contacting other people or sharing resources or perhaps a ‘Problem Page’ where solutions can be found collegially. These are just some examples of how this blog could work for you.

• Leading, identifying and developing innovative practice.
• Facilitating the sharing of effective practice.
• Researching, planning and coordinating opportunities that will support professional development.

Working with Learning & Teaching Scotland to keep up to date with what is happening in other Authorities.

Keeping links with A Curriculum for Excellence and the National Priorities.

Having an up to date knowledge of what is happening in the development of a Curriculum for Excellence & coordinating the information.
